Turkey had requested the ruling to be reviewed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The aforementioned ruling was issued upon a collective complaint by Mansur Yal\u00e7\u0131n, Nam\u0131k Sofuo\u011flu, Serap Top\u00e7u, Ali Y\u00fcce, Ali Kaplan, Eylem Onat Karata\u015f, H\u00fcseyin Kaya, Sevin\u00e7 Ilg\u0131n, \u0130smail Ilg\u0131n, Cafer Aktan, Hakk\u0131 Sayg\u0131, Kemal Kuzucu, Y\u00fcksel Polat and Hasan K\u0131l\u0131\u00e7, saying that mandatory religion classes violated Convention Article 2 on right to education. The complaint was requested on February 2, 2011.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cTurkey was to implement appropriate measures to remedy the situation without delay, in particular by introducing a system whereby pupils could be exempted from religion and ethics classes without their parents having to disclose their own religious or philosophical convictions,\u201d the ruling cited.
