CNN Greece aired a 26-minute documentary about Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh) and the ongoing conflict.<\/p>\n
Karabakh, according to the video story, has been living between war and peace for many years now.<\/p>\n
In the documentary, the story unfolds through the narratives of young people and journalists, also detailing the HALO Trust\u2019s de-mining efforts.<\/p>\n
Frontline soldiers in Martakert, all of them under 20, are central in the film, which also features interviews with officials form\u00a0 both Karabakh and Armenia, as well as interviews with Armenians who are either of Greek descent or repatriates.<\/p>\n
In addition, the documentary states that although many call the Karabakh conflict \u201cfrozen\u201d ever since the ceasefire agreement in 1994, the biggest armed clash since the establishment of this truce took place in 2016, and this reminded that unresolved conflicts are perilous. Karchilaki also points that by the decision of Soviet leader Joseph Stalin, Nagorno-Karabakh was annexed to the Azerbaijan SSR, albeit most of Karabakh\u2019s inhabitants were Armenians.<\/p>\n
The CNN Greece’s crew had arrived in Armenia and Karabakh with the support of the European Friends of Armenia.<\/p>\n
