National minorities are never ignored in Armenia: Amo Sharoyan says “yes” to Constitutional Reforms

YEREVAN – The Chairman of the Council of “Midia-Shangal” Yazidi National Union NGO Amo Sharoyan is in favor of the Constitutional Reforms and considers that it is a step forward for the country. He noted that they were ready to join all the political and public organizations which would say “yes” to the Constitutional Reforms.

“Transfer to parliamentary system of government as well as the powers provided to judicial bodies and possibilities given to the national minorities are a step forward,” “Armenpress” reports, Amo Sharoyan said.

According to him, they are really pleased with the 2nd provision of article 89 of the Constitution which establishes the presence of national minorities in the National Assembly.

“The Constitution provides a possibility for the national minorities to participate in the activities of the legislative body as well as other bodies. This speaks of the fact that national minorities are never ignored in the Republic of Armenia,” Sharoyan emphasized.

Constitutional Reforms referendum will be held in Armenia on December 6.
