In his book “Fear, Weakness and Power in the Post-Soviet South Caucasus,” Kevork Oskanian tries to outline the international relations of the Southern Caucasus.

The book on Caucasus discusses different trends of power struggle and changes in Central Asia and South Caucasus after the collapse of the Soviet Union and re-emergence of new independent republics.

The book provides a detailed, multi-level analysis of international security in the South Caucasus and considers whether this region of the former Soviet Union, with several yet unresolved, ‘frozen’ separatist conflicts, can move toward’ a more peaceful future.

The book also assesses the emergence of a security regime in the Southern Caucasus and offers a critical-prescriptive assessment of policy implications for both regional and extra-regional actors concerned with improved regional stability.

Most literature on the subject is largely descriptive, historical and theoretically developmental by suggesting an appropriate modification of the ‘Regional Security Complex Theory.’
